Start with your business economics.
Enter the contribution from one sale after variable costs, your lead-to-sale conversion rate, and the share of that contribution you want to retain after advertising. The calculator shows break-even and target costs; it does not predict campaign performance.

A clearer starting point
What can you afford to spend on a sale?
Use your own economics to find a break-even ceiling and a target cost per sale or lead.
The starting numbers are an illustration. Replace them with your own figures.
Your planning limits
Target maximum cost per sale
CPATarget maximum cost per lead
CPLMedia-only break-even cost per sale
Media-only break-even cost per lead
These are spending ceilings, not forecasts or promised campaign results. Agency fees, fixed overheads and taxes are not included. Media-only break-even does not mean the whole business is profitable.
How the calculation works
Break-even CPA = contribution per sale. Target CPA = contribution × (1 − retained share). CPL = the corresponding CPA × lead-to-sale rate. Percentages are divided by 100.
What the estimate does not include
The retained contribution is before fixed overhead, agency fees and any costs or taxes not included in your inputs. It is not net profit. This first-sale calculation does not assume repeat purchases or lifetime value.
